Tips and advice.

When designing your dining room, first define your needs. Will it be a dignified and elegant room to impress the guests you are entertaining? Or a more cozy room for informal suppers and convivial get-togethers? This will influence your choice of table and decor.

If you have the space, complement the dining table with a useful sideboard, dresser or console table.

Consider the other uses you can make of the room, for example as a library, book-lined shelves can enhance the atmosphere of the room.

If you have an open plan kitchen dining area think of using different lighting and flooring, for example tiles or stone for the kitchen and wooden flooring (perhaps with a rug) for the dining area in order to separate the dining experience from food preparation.
